Abigail Selby began playing celtic harp in 1999 and recorded her first original composition at age fourteen. At age seventeen, Abigail travelled to Scotland to compete in the Scottish Mod and received third place in the advanced level harp competition. When Abigail attended college at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia, she pursued Classical pedal harp as her primary instrument. In 2012, she recorded and produced her first full length album of original music called Sow Hope, which features her on electric and acoustic harp, vocals, percussion, and piano. Abigail is a board certified music therapist and has worked with hospice care, psychiatric hospitals, autism, dementia and Alzheimer's, traumatic brain injury, and PTSD. She has been teaching private music lessons of harp, piano, guitar, and voice since 2007. Abigail performs Celtic and renaissance music with her parents and sister at various festivals in the Washington DC area. Abigail performs regularly with her husband as an original duo called Abigail Selby & Eric Selby. Together, the duo has played at esteemed venues in the Washington DC area such as Blues Alley and the Birchmere, has been featured on radio stations all over the country, and went on tour in January of 2016. They are currently in the studio working to produce their third recording.
